Lovina A. Varley, 96

Lovina A. Varley, 96, of Blair, died Wednesday, March 21, 1999, at Memorial Community Hospital.

Services were Monday, April 26, at St. Charles Borromeo Church in North Bend.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in North Bend.

Lovina A. Varley was born Jan. 7, 1903, to John and Mary Ann (Powers) Ranslem near Cedar Bluffs.

She graduated from North Bend High School and attended Wayne State College.

She taught in rural schools in the North Bend area and moved to Blair in the early 1970s to be near her son and his family.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Pauline Varley of Blair; son, Gerald Varley of Omaha; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Marie Saunders of San Francisco, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
