Arthur Vercruysse, 79

Arthur Vercruysse, 79, of Blair, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at the Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. Funeral services were Monday, July 8, at First Lutheran Church in Blair.

Arthur Vercruysse was born April 3, 1923, on a farm near Omaha to George and Rachel Vercruysse. He was the youngest of five children.

He married Irene Brown of Clarkson on April 22, 1945. The couple farmed in the Omaha area for 20 years before moving to the Herman area in 1965.

Mr. Vercruysse continued to farm and raise livestock until 1999. Due to ill health, he spent the last three years in residence at Crowell Memorial Home.

He is survived by a son, Richard Vercruysse of Blair; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Jim Vandenburg of Omaha; six grandchildren and spouses; one brother, George Vercruysse of Omaha; numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; daughter-in-law, Lynn Vercruysse; two brothers and one sister.

Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church of Blair.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair was in charge of arrangements.
