Dale T. Little, 80

Dale T. Little, 80, of Omaha, died Sunday, November 4, 2012.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 8, at the John A. Gentleman Mortuaries, 72nd St. Chapel. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the 72nd St. Chapel. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Omaha.

Dale T. Little was born June 6, 1932, in a sod house in Koshopah, Brown County, to William and Katherine Little.

He attended school in Ainsworth and played on the high school football team. As a young man, he worked on local ranches.

He joined the Marines in 1952 and served during the Korean War for three years.

In April of 1955, he married Dorothy Halldorson of Long Pine.

After moving to Omaha, he worked for Omaha Public Power District for 39 years.

He loved spending time with family and friends camping, hunting and fishing.

In February of 1988, he married Gwendolyn McFerrin. The couple lived in Blair for 22 years before moving back to Omaha in 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn; sons and daughter-in-law, James Little and Timothy and Rebecca Little; stepchildren and their spouses, Elvin and Pam McFerrin, Duane and Sue McFerrin, William and Lori McFerrin, Sandra and Butch Spaulding and Debra Baker; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; siblings and their spouses, Joseph and Linda Little, Mary and Bill Miller, William and Sondra Little, Rick and Nadine Little, Margie Biltoft, Sharon Stahl and Hazel Platt; many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy; daughter, Katherine “Kitty”; mother, Katherine; father, William; stepmother, Dorothy; brother, Robert; and half-brothers, Marlie and Jerome Fetherston.
