Edna I. M. Fuchs, 96, formerly of Arlington, died Friday, November 9, 2012, at Nye Legacy in Fremont after a short illness.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Arlington. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont.

Edna Ilsabein Marie Stork was born December 24, 1915, to John and Lena Stork of rural Arlington, where she was raised.

On August 25, 1940, she married Rudolph Fuchs.

The couple farmed north of Arlington for 38 years and raised six children there.

In 1978, they retired and moved to Arlington where she lived until October of 2011. At that time, she moved to Nye Square and enjoyed the last year of her life there.

She was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League at St. Paul’s. She was an active member of the Arlington Over 60 Center for 30 years and loved volunteering there as well as playing cards and board games.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Bonnie and Richard Owston of Fremont, Vernetta and Donald Dunlap of Mesa, Ariz., Doris and John Ray of Golden, Colo., Larry and Marg Fuchs of Arlington, Jean and Michael Ristow of Arlington and Kenneth and Roxanne Fuchs of Fremont; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren; a brother, Allard, of Cleveland, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Irma Stork of Arlington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph, who died in 1996; and a brother, Harold Stork of Arlington.
