Helen R. Van Valin, 86, of Fremont, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25 at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, with the Rev. Leland Foreman of First Baptist Church in Fremont officiating. There is no visitation.

Helen R. Van Valin was born July 8, 1918, in Herman to Kelly and Hilda (Hue) Van Valin.

She grew up in Herman and was a graduate of Herman High School. She moved to California in 1936, where she worked for the U. S. Postal Service. She returned to Nebraska in 1973 and made her home in Fremont.

She is survived by her cousins.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
