Services for Zora Mae Wetherbee, 86 of Beemer, who died December 10, 1992 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital were Saturday, December 12 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair with Rev. Mark Meyer officiating. Burial was in the Beemer Cemetery.

Zoa Wetherbee was born May 2, 1906 on a farm east of Beemer to George and Agnes Fetzer Long. She was baptized at the Congregational Church in Beemer.

She graduated from Beemer High School in 1924 and from Hastings College in 1928. She taught school for 15 years at Decatur where she was also principal and superintendent.

She was also employed at Citizens State Bank at Decatur and operated the theater. She returned to Beemer about five years ago.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church where she was confirmed in 1956. She was active in the Beemer Senior Citizens.

She married Nathan Wetherbee November 16, 1952 at Beemer. He preceded her in death in 1983.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.

She is survived by a niece and her husband, Merna and Leslie Glaubius of Beemer and a nephew and his wife, Melvin and Helen Long of Beemer.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Glaubius, Steven Long, Larry Long, Sam Seevers, Kevin Glaubius and Steve Repenning.

Kuzelka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
