Irene (Mrs. Lester) Wheeler, 75, died November 27, 1987, in Las Vegas, Nevada, of natural causes.

She was born in Essex, Iowa, and was raised in Red Oak, Iowa. Her husband Lester ran the Safeway in Blair, and this is where they spent most of their married life. They now live in Las Vegas.

She was a member of the first Methodist Church in Blair for 25 years plus.

Survivors include her husband Lester; daughters Mrs. Jean Paulsen of Blair and Mrs. Nancy Miller of Las Vegas; sisters, Mrs. Bernice Peerson of Red Oak; Mrs. Francis Myers of Shenandoah, Iowa; Mrs. Mamie Lindstrom of Salem, Oregon; Mrs. Vivian Gibson of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; brother, Victor Bengtson of Farragut, Iowa, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, 1987, at Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas.
