Gladys M. Whitaker, 91

Funeral services for Gladys M. Whitaker, 91, of Blair, were held Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha. Mrs. Whitaker died at Crowell Memorial Home on Thursday, Sept. 11.

Gladys M. Whitaker was born Nov. 23, 1911, in Omaha to Dean and Alice (Green) Jackson. She attended North High School in Omaha.

She was married to Ward Whitaker, who preceded her in death in 1961. The couple owned and operated the Pantorium Cleaners in Valley.

Mrs. Whitaker was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Church, and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Valley Chapter No. 288.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ellen Whitaker; granddaughter, Kristen Whitaker, both of Blair; one brother, Carl Petersen, Portsmouth, R.I., three sisters, Ruth Petersen and Alice Cherry, both of Lincoln, and Thelma Van DaVeen, Chilliwack, British Columbia, along with nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Warren and Wayne, and two sisters and two brothers.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
