Services for Art Beck, 75 of Blair, who died at his residence July 17, 1991 after an apparent heart attack, were Saturday, July 20 at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Ritter officiating. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery with military graveside honors.

Arthur R. Beck was born on October 11, 1915 at Newport, Nebraska to Alvia and Effie Spann Beck. He grew up at West Point, Nebraska and graduated from West Point High School.

He worked in different jobs before entering the military and serving in the Army during World War II. After his discharge he attended barber school. In 1951 he moved to Blair and worked for Petersen Barbershop until he purchased the business in 1953. He operated the business until his retirement in 1979.

He married Berneta Broekemeier on September 3, 1952 in Phoenix, Arizona.

He is survived by his wife, Berneta; one daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and George Olsen, Blair; a son and daughter-in-law, Al and Cindy Beck, Blair; son, Fred Beck, Lincoln, Nebraska and three grandchildren, Jeff, Alex and Becky. He is also survived by one brother Dan Beck, Blair. Art was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Crystal Davis and Faye Freeman.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
