Harold Vincent

Services for Harold H. Vincent, 86, formerly of Fremont and recently of Omaha, who died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1985, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Omaha, were held Friday, Nov. 22, at the United Presbyterian Church in North Bend. The Rev. Orin Graff officiated and graveside services and burial were at the Woodland Cemetery in North Bend.

Masonic services were conducted at the church by Acacia Lodge No. 34 of Schuyler. Military services were conducted by the North Bend Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8223 and Morse Bluff American Legion Post No. 340.

Vincent was born June 18, 1899, the son of William and Cassie Vincent of rural Rogers.

He grew up on a farm in the Dublin area north of Rogers. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War I and served for two years, part of which was in France.

After the War he lived in Schuyler for 20 years. He worked at the Ehernberger Flour Mill and for the Schuyler Police Department. He was police chief for 10 years.

Vincent then moved to Arlington and was employed for 24 years by Drs. Cady and Otto, veterinarians.

He then moved to North Bend and lived there for three years and moved to Fremont in 1977.

He had married Edna E. Van Housen on August 28, 1920, in Omaha.

Survivors include one son, William of Boise, Idaho; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Alice) Kruger of North Bend, and Mrs. Shirley Longwith of Fremont; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Pallbearers were Leonard Dahlheim, Dr. Louis Otto, Tim Fritzinger, Jerry Kruger, Jr., Bill Giddings, Mike Scott and Tom Vincent.

Organist was Mrs. Maxine Arneal and soloist was Mrs. Elaine Cady.

Moser Memorial Chapel of North Bend was in charge of arrangements.
