Vail 'Ole' Oleson, 71

Vail "Ole" Oleson, 71, died Thursday, November 29, 2012, at his home in Blair.

Services were Monday, December 3, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment was Tuesday at the Harland Cemetery near Dumont, Iowa.

Vail Oleson was born December 5, 1940, in Hampton, Iowa, to Gilbert and Doris (Harlan) Oleson.

He graduated from Hampton High School.

He retired from CON-E-CO in Blair after more than 20 years working as a welder.

He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed playing golf on his Xbox. He was a Minnesota Twins and Nebraska football fan and enjoyed watching every game he could.

Over the years, he was an avid student of history and a reader and collector on anything regarding the Kennedy history.

He is survived by daughters, Laurie Schroeder and fiancé Gary Jackson of Norfolk, Donna Oleson of Lincoln, Crystal and husband Earl Feiling of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Vail D. “Bo” and Lisa Oleson of North Platte; sisters and brother-in-law, Phyllis Griffith of Austin, Texas, and Valda and Don Santee of Lime Springs, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Oleson; sisters, Marlys Petrie and Eunice Oleson; and great-granddaughter, Jordyn Marie Ratfield.
