Services for Wilbur Whittington, 72, were held on Monday, Nov. 28, 1988 after he passed away on Nov. 24 at his daughter’s home in Bellevue.

Wilbur was born on March 21, 1916 at Barada, Ne. to William and Dora (Orr) Whittington. He attended school in Barada.

On June 13, 1939 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Boehme at Elk Point, S.D. They lived in Auburn, Ne. for many years before retiring and moving to Blair in 1963.

Wilbur had worked for Conner and Stavely Construction for many years.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy; two children, Connie Henley of Bellevue and Gary of Clovis, N.M.; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Muriel Whittington of Stell, Ne.; four sisters, Lucille Long of Sylva, N.C., Eunice Ramel, San Francisco, Ca., Geraldine Whittington of Lincoln and Jean McCoy, also of Lincoln.

The Monday funeral services were held at the Campbell Funeral Home in Blair and burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha. The pastor Owen Wilmot from the First Christian Church officiated.
