Mrs. Cora Whorlow To Be Buried Friday

Mrs. Cora Della Whorlow passed away Monday night, November 14th at the Blair Community Memorial Hospital. She had been a resident of the Good Shepherd Home for only a few weeks.

On October 18, 1879 she was born near Kennard to the late Isaac McCann and Margaret Wright McCann, so was 81 years of age at the time of her death.

In 1902 she was united in marriage to Robert Whorlow. They lived in Washington County most of their married lives, but moved to Wayne, Nebr. and made their home there for a few years before Mr. Whorlow’s death on October 19, 1933.

She is survived by five sons; Merle of Los Angeles, Paul of Fairmont, Nebraska, Russell of Downey, California, Howard of Fremont and Kenneth of Wayne. Four daughters also survive. They are: Mrs Harold Jensen (Mary) of Blair, Mrs. Milton Carlberg (Blanche) of Arlington, Mrs. Earl Jensen (Roberta) of Blair, Mrs. Loyal Schuler (Amy) of Beldin, Nebraska. Also twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Sam Demaree of Scottsbluff. A daughter Gladys died in 1942 at the age of 24.

Funeral services will be held at the Kennard Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 18th. The Rev. Kenneth M. Garrison will officiate. The Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery beside her husband.

Pallbearers will be LeRoy McCann and Glenn Rosenbaum of Kennard, Lloyd McCann and Ralph Widener of Omaha, How Rhea of Arlington and Roscoe Rosenbaum of Fremont.
