Robert L. “Bob” Wichman, 72, Blair, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 1998, at Crowell Memorial Home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Country Bible Church in Blair. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, Neb.

Mr. Wichman was born April 1, 1925, in Beatrice to John and Emily (Arndt) Wichman. He attended school in Beatrice. He served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate Third Class during World War II. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 30 years. He lived in Omaha; Long Beach, Calif. and Alma, Neb., prior to moving to Blair in 1993.

Survivors are his daughters, Emily Timm and fiancé, Terry Anderson, Blair; Lee LeCompte, Blair and Rebecca Schmitt, Fort Calhoun; five grandchildren, Candy Jeta Ime Maresh, Elizabeth Buckingham, Christina LeCompte, Betty Janssen, LeAnne Schmitt; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Shelley, Beatrice; Patsy Hupp, Yutan, Neb.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 10 brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be given to Crowell Memorial Home or the Boy Scouts.
