Funeral services for Ada Wiese, age 78, of Kennard who died April 29, 1990 at St. Joseph Villa in Omaha will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska.

Ada A. Baumann was born on December 27, 1911 at Chicago, Illinois, to Gustav and Elizabeth Gollner Baumann. They moved to Dubuque, Iowa and later to Treynor, Iowa, where she graduated from Treynor High School.

She studied music and education at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she moved back to the Omaha area to teach primary school and give private music lessons.

She married Raymond Altrock. He preceded her in death in 1959.

At the end of World War II, Ada went to work for the United States Army Corps of Engineers. She remained in this capacity for a quarter of a century until her retirement.

On March 17, 1964 she was united in marriage to Henry Wiese in Omaha. They made their home two miles south of Kennard.

Ada was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. She was church organist for many years.

She was preceded in death by husband, Raymond and one brother, Harold.

She is survived by her husband, Henry; two sons, Dr. Richard Altrock, Cloudcroft, New Mexico and Robert Altrock of Omaha, Nebraska, six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Glen (Elsie) Bryant, Treynor, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the Grace United Methodist Church or the Alzheimers Foundation.
