August Wiese Buried At German Cemetery Saturday

August J. H. Wiese passed away at Manning Plaza in Manning, Iowa, after a long illness on January 17th, 1973. He was born July 12th, 1905, on a farm near Kennard. He attended Peaceful Hill School and in later years was employed in Iowa.

He was baptized in Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla, Iowa.

Survivors are sisters, Mrs. Christena English, Beemer, Nebraska and Dorothy Wiese. His brothers are Clarence and Asmus of Blair, Arthur and Henry of Kennard, half sister, Mrs. George Voss of DeSmet, South Dakota; half brothers, Claus of Denver, Colorado, and Rudolf of Calhoun. His parents, one brother, Herman and one half sister preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were nephews and cousins, Chester Wiese, Ronald Wiese, Fritz Japp, David English, George Boock, and Rolland Metz.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Sanford Sorgen, from Bendorf Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon.

Interment was made in the German Cemetery south of Blair.
