Services for John B. Wiese, 91 of Beatrice, who died at the Beatrice Community Hospital July 16, 1991 will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 19 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Beatrice. Rev. George Matthews will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Pickrell.

There will be visitation at Fox Funeral Home in Beatrice until 8:30 a.m. Friday with visitation at the church for an hour preceding the services. A family prayer service will be held in the parish hall of the church at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

John B. Wiese was born August 2, 1899 at Fillie, Nebraska. He farmed six miles east of Beatrice between 1922-34. He then farmed northwest of Fillie for 22 years before moving into Beatrice in 1955. For the last two years he has resided at the Beatrice Manor Care Center.

He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Beatrice.

He married Tina Woeken. She preceded him in death May 9, 1990.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, George and Grace Aden Wiese; one son, Ernest J. Wiese in December, 1984 and one brother, Frank Wiese.

He is survived by two sons, Mervin Wiese, Marvin, South Dakota and Raymond Wiese, Fillie; two daughters, Arlene (Mrs. Leonard) Parde of Adams and Verna Daubendick (Mrs. Daniel) Parde of Arlington; 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

A memorial is being administered through Fox Funeral Home.
