Funeral services were Saturday, May 12 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Beatrice, Nebraska for Tena Wiese, 88 years of age, who died at the Beatrice Manor Care Center on May 9, 1990. Rev. George Matthews officiated. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Pickrell, Nebraska.

Tena Wiese was born January 26, 1902 in rural Pickrell and lived on a farm six miles east of Beatrice from 1922 to 1934. She moved to a farm northwest of Filley, Nebraska where she lived for 21 years before moving to Beatrice in 1955.

She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Beatrice. She also was a member of the Charity Circle of the church and was active and enjoyed quilting for the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reiner and Johanna Ideus Wolken; one son Ernest J Wiese, who died in December of 1984; one brother and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, John B. of Beatrice; two sons, Mervin Wiese of Marvin, South Dakota and Raymond Wiese of Filley, Nebraska; two daughters, Arlene (Mrs. Leonard) Parde of Adams, Nebraska and Verna (Mrs. Daniel) Daubendick Parde of Arlington, Nebraska; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Sadie Duitsman of Bird City, Kansas.

A memorial has been established with P. T. Hobeling and Heye Oltman in charge.

Fox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
