Joel Wieser, 26

Joel R. Wieser, 26, of Houston, Texas, died Monday, January 25, 1988, at Memorial City Medical Center, Houston, from Spinal Meningitis.

He was employed by the Steak and Ale Restaurants, Houston.

He was born March 27, 1961, in Fremont, and lived in Sioux City, Iowa, from 1964-1972.

He then moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before returning to Sioux City, where he graduated from Sioux City West High School.

Survivors of the bachelor include father, James Wieser of Memphis, Tennessee; mother, Sandra Wieser of South Sioux City; brother, Jim Wieser of Memphis, sister, Mrs. Doug (Jackie Lou) Landsen of Bellingham, Washington, maternal grandmother, Mrs. Maurine French and paternal grandmother Mrs. Merle Hindmarsh, both of Arlington.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Clarence French and Harold Wieser.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 29, 1988, at the Arlington Community Church. Rev. Robert Saunders officiated. Organist was Ruby House, and Melvin Misfeldt was soloist.

Pallbearers were Mike, Steve, Ed and Kirk French and John Myers.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home of Arlington handled the arrangements.
