Allan M. Wilcox, 87

Allan M. Wilcox, 87, of Omaha, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, in Omaha.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 21, at Underwood Hills Presbyterian Church in Omaha. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

Allan M. Wilcox was born Aug. 26, 1920, on the family farm in Washington County to Harley and Eva (McDonald) Wilcox. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

After the war, he farmed in Washington County until 1954. He then worked for Vickers Manufacturing in Omaha several years. He also worked for Immanuel Hospital in Omaha as a storekeeper, where he met Lucille (Simpson) Toelle, whom he married in 1968. He retired from Immanuel after 24 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodcarving and steam engines. When he was no longer able to hunt, he enjoyed target shooting and his dogs.

In addition to his wife, Lucie, he is survived by his three daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer Wilcox and Rebecca Wilcox, both of Omaha, and Victoria Wilcox and husband, Richard Stratt, of Greenville, R.I.; and brother and sister-in-law, Duane “Harlo” and Betty Wilcox of Kennard; cousins, nieces, nephews, and his dog, Sam.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lyle and James; a sister, Jane (Wilcox) Nelson; and a nephew, James Wilcox.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society; the Nebraska Humane Society; or the Veterans Tribute Plaza in Blair.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair was in charge of arrangements.
