James Wilcox Dies Saturday Of Injuries Received In Accident

CAR SKIDDED ON ICY HIGHWAY

James Wilcox, 31, Blair, died Saturday morning in Memorial Community Hospital of injuries received in a car accident Friday night.

Mr. Wilcox became the second Washington County highway factality for the year 1958.

The accident reportedly occurred when the car driven by Damon Nielsen, 49, of Blair and Omaha skidded on the icy curve on Highway 73 near DeSoto and went out of control.

The two men were thrown from the car. They were taken to Memorial Community Hospital for treatment.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Blair Episcopal Church at two o’clock, the Rev. Sam Elliston officiating. Burial follows in Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Wilcox is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harley F. Wilcox, Omaha; one sister, Mrs. Stanley Nelson, Omaha; three brothers, Allen Wilcox, Omaha, Lyle and Dwaine (Harlo) Wilcox, both of Blair.

Mr. Wilcox was born August 22, 1926 and lived at 701 West Lincoln Street. He was employed by the Blair Transfer.

The Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
