Services for Clara E. Vogt, 96 of Arlington who died September 14, 1993 at Arbor Manor in Fremont were Friday, September 17 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. Rev. Michael Rogers officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Clara E. Giesselman Vogt was born August 27, 1897 in Arlington. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and its Women’s League.

She married Frederich Vogt February 18, 1926 at Arlington. He preceded her in death April 26, 1968.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Hannah Jacob Giesselman; brothers, Edward, Albert and Harry Giesselman; sisters, Emma Toebben, Ella Miller and Alice Riley and one granddaughter, Dianne Miller.

She is survived by a son, Lloyd Vogt of Arlington; four daughters, Joan (Mrs. Norman) Stork and Dorothy Vogt, both of Arlington, Opal (Mrs. K. R.) Miller of Fremont and Doris (Mrs. C. W.) Rydstrom of Omaha; two sisters, Edna Giesselman of Omaha and Leona (Mrs. Walter) Nieman of Blair; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Michael Aust, Jeff Hallstrom, Gregory Petersen, Charles Rydstrom, Steve Starkey, Kent Stork and Tom Vogt.

Carol Bottomly was organist.

Memorial may go to St. Paul’s Improvement Fund, The Lutheran Hour or the Arlington Fire and Rescue Departments.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

ARLINGTON – The funeral of Clara E. Vogt, 96, of Arlington will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Arlington.

Vogt died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1993, at Arbor Manor in Fremont. She was a homemaker.

Clara Giesselman was born Aug. 27, 1897, in Arlington.

She was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, and its Women’s League.

Giesselman married Frederich Vogt Feb. 18, 1926, at Arlington. He died April 26, 1968.

Survivors include a son, Lloyd of Arlington; four daughters, Joan Stork and Dorothy Vogt, both of Arlington; Opal Miller of Fremont and Doris Rydstrom of Omaha; two sisters, Edna Gieselmann of Omaha and Leona Nieman of Blair; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a step-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, and a granddaughter.

The Rev. Michael Rogers will officiate Friday’s service. Visitation will be until 9 tonight at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, and an hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Memorials have been established to St. Paul’s Improvement Fund, The Lutheran Hour and Arlington Fire and Rescue Department.

Clara E. Vogt

Clara Emma Vogt, the daughter of John G. and Hannah (Jacob) Giesselman, was born August 27, 1897 at Arlington, Nebraska. She was baptized on September 19, 1897 by Pastor J. Hilgendorf and was confirmed on April 9, 1911 by Pastor H. Hallerberg at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Arlington.

She married Frederich H. Vogt on February 18, 1926 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He died April 26, 1968.

Clara was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and belonged to the St. Paul’s Women’s League. She lived in Arlington all her life until moving to Arbor Manor in Fremont on August 12th of this year.

Clara passed from this life on Tuesday, September 14, 1993 at Arbor Manor in Fremont, at the age of 96 years and 18 days. She is survived by a son, Lloyd of Arlington; 4 daughters, Joan (Mrs. Norman) Stork and Dorothy Vogt both of Arlington; Opal (Mrs. K. R.) Miller of Fremont and Doris (Mrs. C. W.) Rydstrom of Omaha; 2 sisters, Edna Gieselman of Omaha and Leona (Mrs. Walter) Nieman of Blair; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Albert and Harry; sisters, Emma Toebben, Ella Miller and Alice Riley; and a granddaughter, Dianne Miller.
