Donald Vogt, 72, of Blair, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at the University Of Nebraska Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 27 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum. A private family burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair, with the family receiving friends.

Donald Vogt was born on May 21, 1936, in his family home in Kennard, to Hans H. and Agnes (Lammers) Vogt. He attended Brewster school and then Kennard High School where he graduated in 1954.

On April 6, 1958, he married Carro Boysen.

Mr. Vogt always had a love for hard work and good food. His greatest passions were his family and farming. He served on the Rose Hill school board for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Carro; daughters and son-in-law, Crystal Vogt, Penny and Larry Schutt, and Lori Vogt; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jen Vogt; five grandchildren, Keith Green, Paige and husband Matt Delaney, Wyatt Schutt, Nicole Vogt and Zackery Vogt; a brother, Hansel Vogt; and sister, Marilyn Shanks.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Johnny Vogt.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family or an organization of the donor’s choice.
