Lloyd F. “Fritz” Vogt, 72, of Arlington, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 18, 2007, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 21, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington. Interment was at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Lloyd F. Vogt was born May 14, 1935, in Arlington to Frederick and Clara (Giesselman) Vogt. He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School, and graduated from Arlington High School in 1953.

He worked for the Arlington Hay Mill before entering the United States Army in 1958. He served in Hawaii prior to returning to Arlington in 1960. He then farmed until his retirement in 2000. In 2003, he moved into Arlington.

On July 22, 1962, he married Rosalyn Dunklau at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

He was a member of St. Paul’s and held various offices in the church.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Gina Vogt of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Darrin Clarkson of Scottsbluff; three grandsons; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Opal Miller of Fremont, Doris and C. W. Rydstrom of Omaha, and Dorothy Vogt of Arlington.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Stork.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; the Arlington Education Foundation; and the Arlington Community Fund.

The funeral for Lloyd F. “Fritz” Vogt, 72, of Arlington will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington.

He died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

He was born May 14, 1935, in Arlington and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1953 and worked for the Arlington Hay Mill and farmed before entering the U.S. Army in 1958. He served in Hawaii prior to returning to Arlington in 1960 where he farmed until his retirement in 2000. In 2003, he moved into Arlington.

He married Rosalyn Dunklau on July 22, 1962, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and held various offices in the church.

Survivors include: his wife; a son, Tom Vogt (and wife, Gina) of Arlington; a daughter, Julie Clarkson (and husband, Darrin) of Scottsbluff; three sisters, Opal Miller of Fremont, Doris Rydstrom (and husband, C. W.) of Omaha and Dorothy Vogt of Arlington; and three grandsons, Christian Vogt, Austin Clarkson and Samuel Clarkson.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan.

The Rev. Rick Kanoy will officiate Friday’s service. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont with family present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials have been established to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Arlington Education Foundation and the Arlington Community Fund.
