Harry Frey Andersen, 82

Memorial services were held at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Racine, Wisconsin for Harry Frey Anderson, 82, who died March 4, 1992 of cancer. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery.

Harry Frey Andersen was born December 13, 1909 to Rev. and Mrs. Edward R. Andersen and was baptized at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. He grew up and lived in Racine where his father, the first American-born pastor to fill the Emmaus church pulpit was chaplain at a hospital.

When his parents came to the United States from Denmark they came to Washington County. When his grandparents, Hans and Marie Andersen moved from the homestead near Craig to Blair, Hans worked a manager at the Dana Bookstore and they lived in the home where Dana College got its start.

He attended Dana College. He then went to Trinity Seminary in Blair and into the ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents: a son, Dennis and infant brother; four other brothers, Christian, Rev. Edward R. Andersen, Jr., Rev Harold Andersen and Rev. LeRoy Andersen and an uncle, Rev. Alfred (Marie) Anderson.

He is survived by a daughter, Jolene (Mrs. Fred) Lesher; six grandchildren; and one brother, Maynard of Fremont, California.
