Irene A. Voskamp, 79

Irene A. Voskamp, 79, of Fremont, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Services were Monday, March 1, at Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Rev. Michael Ostrom officiating.

Pallbearers were Corie and James Voskamp; Scott and Todd Wachter; and Charles and Howard Forsberg.

Burial was in the Elim Lutheran Cemetery at Swaburg.

Irene A. Voskamp was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Craig to Robert and Amelia (Luther) Forsberg.

She grew up in the Uehling area.

On July 20, 1941, she married Harold F. Voskamp in Hooper.

After her marriage, she lived in Uehling for two years more, then moved to a farm near Craig, where she lived for 10 years. She moved to Fremont in 1954. She worked at the former Campbellā€™s Soup Company, the former Monarch Cleaners and retired from the former Hipke Cleaners, all in Fremont.

She was a member of Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 200 Auxiliary of Fremont.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Edie Voskamp of Ashland; two daughters and son-in-law, Kathleen Voskamp of Fremont, and Lois and Tom Wachter of Herman; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Luther E. and ReAnn Forsberg of Fremont and Leonard and Wilma Forsberg of Valley; two sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth Meyer of Fremont and Lila and Max West of Blair; sister-in-law, Arlys Forsberg of Fremont; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Forsberg and Howard Forsberg.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
