#1 Services Held Tuesday For Alvin Voss

Services for Alvin B. Voss were held Tuesday at the Arlington Community Church with the Rev. Robert Saunders officiating. He died Saturday, June 25, 1988 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Mr. Voss was born January 12, 1929 in Kennard, where he grew up and attended school.

After his marriage to his wife, Kay, they resided in Omaha for two years before moving to a farm Southeast of Arlington.

He was a member of the Arlington VFW Post 8332 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany from 1953-56.

He was married to Kay Brown, February 24, 1957 at Arlington. She survives as does a son, Lawrence, of Arlington. Daughters Marilyn J. Voss and Cynthia K. Voss, both of Arlington, also survive. He leaves behind two sisters, Mrs. Avery (Dorothy) Jasperson of West Point and Mrs. Evelyn Parrish of Omaha.

Military graveside services were conducted by the members of Arlington VFW Post 8332 and Arlington Legion Post 71. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Bertha (Koepke) Voss; three brothers, John, Wilbert, and Wallace; two sisters, Catherine Christensen and Wilma Voss.

Shirley Schmidt was the organist, Elaine Cady, the soloist.

Pallbearers were Dan Parrish, Dee Minnis, Virgil Rohlff, Jim Becher, Jim Becker, and Jerry Jaspersen.
