Miss Katie Hoier died at the Blair hospital at 1 o'clock Monday morning of cancer of the shoulder. She had been at the hospital for the past six weeks. The funeral was held today at the Methodist church in Kennard. Rev. Victor Rasmussen and Rev. H. Nelson officiating. Burial was in the Kennard cemetery by the side of her parents. Miss Hoier was born in Denmark Oct. 7th, 1882, and came to this country when but a child.

The death of Miss Katie Hoier of Kennard occurred last Monday, May 7, at the Blair hospital where she had been for the past six weeks, receiving medical treatment for the dread disease, cancer. The deceased was born Oct. 7, 1882 and was past forty years of age at the time of her death. Her parents being dead, she lived alone on a small acreage near Kennard where she had lived practically all her life.

The immediate relatives are two cousins, Andrew and James Hoier who live near Blair and Kennard.

Funeral services were held in Kennard on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Rasmussen of Kennard and Rev. Nelson of Blair, officiating. Burial was made in the Kennard cemetery.

Miss Katie Hoier, who had been a patient at the Blair hospital for several weeks, passed away early Monday morning. She had suffered from cancer for many months. Miss Hoier had lived here the greater part of her life and her friends were numbered by her acquaintances, and had only kindly words for her. She had lived alone since the death of her mother several years ago and went to the hospital when she was no longer able to care for herself. She leaves several cousins, an uncle and aunt, but no immediate relatives, who with a host of friends will miss her. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Lutheran pastor in charge.
