Dr. Geri Doran Yanes, 54

Dr. Geri Doran Yanes, 54, of Rochester, Minn., died Friday, December 28, 2012.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013, in the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Omaha. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, at the St. Vincent de Paul Church in Omaha with a wake at 7 p.m.

Geri Doran was born October 24, 1958, in Lincoln to Dwight and Mary Anne Doran.

She graduated from Holy Name High School in Omaha in 1976.

She received her undergraduate degree at Northwestern University in 1980 and her medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical School in 1986. She completed her psychiatry residency at Stanford University in 1996. She became an Oblate of the Order of St. Benedict in 2004.

She was a retired federal employee after working at the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, Minn.

She is survived by her husband, Al Yanes; mother, Mary Anne Doran; siblings and their spouses, Joe and Renee Doran of Kennard, Paul and Stephanie Doran of Huntley, Ill., Fred and Julie Doran of Omaha and Dorene and Jim Watson of Omaha; numerous nephews and nieces, aunts, cousins, godchildren and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dwight Doran; and brother, Frank Doran.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Benedict Center Endowment Fund, 1126 Road I, Schuyler, NE. 68661.
