Melissa Delaney, 52, of Blair, died Thursday, January 3, 2013, in Blair.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, January 12, at the Blair VFW Club with a luncheon to follow.

Melissa Noel was born May 21,1960, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Robert and Barbara (Farwell) Noel.

She attended and graduated from Blair High School.

She attended Drake University and graduated with her bachelor’s degree from UNO.

After graduation and until the present time, she was a music instructor with Music In Catholic Schools in Omaha.

On June 12, 1999, she married David Delaney in Ericson.

In the 1990s, she was a member of the Omaha Wind Symphony. Over the years, she was a member of the Blair Community Band.

She enjoyed teaching all of her students and especially enjoyed her yearly honor band concert.

Mrs. Delaney was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

She enjoyed her summer vacations fishing, boating and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her brothers, Brent Noel of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Robert Noel of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Kevin Pirtle of Sheldahl, Iowa; step-children Derek Delaney, Dillon Delaney and Abby Delaney; and nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, David Delaney.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
