Agnes “Jean” Wilkins, 74

Agnes “Jean” Wilkins, 74, of Fremont died Aug. 28, 2001, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be at the Blair Cemetery.

Agnes “Jean” (Houdesheldt) Wilkins was born Dec. 11, 1926, in Mondamin, Iowa, to Ernest and Goldie Houdesheldt. She attended school at Blencoe, Iowa.

She was a long-time member of Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle.

On March 13, 1946, she married Sidney Wilkins. The couple lived in Blair for a short time before moving to Fontanelle in July 1946.

Mrs. Wilkins lived in Fontanelle until her husband’s death in 1974. She then moved to Fremont.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and LeRoy Schaftersman of Telbasta, Shirley Olson of Fremont, and Judy and Elder Sheets of Stromsburg, and a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Pam Wilkins of Nickerson, her mother, Goldie Houdesheldt of Blencoe, Iowa, sisters, Mary Coy of Torrington, Wyo., Lola (Mrs. Bill) Scurlock of Onawa, Iowa, Phyllis Mann of Sioux City, Iowa, and brother and sister-in-law, John and Nellie Hondesheldt of El Paso, Texas, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney; father, Ernest Houdensheldt, and her sister, Betty Heisler.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice Preferred Choice of Omaha.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
