Norman (Bill) W. Wilkins, Jr., 45

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at the First United Methodist Church in Cozad for Norman (Bill) W. Wilkins, Jr., 45 formerly of Cozad who died July 19, 1989 in the United Airlines disaster at Sioux City, Iowa. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery.

Norman W. Wilkins, Jr. was born August 2, 1943 in Omaha to Norman W. and Cleo Paulsen Wilkins. At the age of nine he moved with his family from Blair to Cozad.

He graduated from Cozad High School in 1961. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Colorado State University. He lived in Millard and Kearney before moving to Park Ridge, Illinois where he lived for several years prior to his death.

At the time of his death he was a professional fund raiser for charitable organizations and was employed by American City Bureau of Chicago.

He is survived by his parents, Norman and Cleo Wilkins; a son, Bill Wilkins; a daughter, Katy Wilkins, all of Cozad; a fiancée, Bonnie Buchanan of Park Ridge, Illinois; a sister, Lynn (Mrs. Jim) Hatcher of Cozad; and a brother, Jack Wilkins and his wife, Becky, of Kearney.

Visitation continues Tuesday.

The casket will not be open.

A memorial has been established in his memory.

Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements for the services.
