Frances W. Miller

Funeral services for Frances W. Miller, 88, of Lincoln, formerly of Arlington, was at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Arlington Community Church. Mrs. Miller died Friday evening at Homestead Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Mrs. Miller was born September 25, 1898 in Arlington and lived in Arlington until 1983 when she moved to Lincoln. She taught school in Brinkman and Arlington prior to her marriage She later worked on the election board and took school census annually. Mrs. Miller also worked at Reckmeyer Hardware & Funeral Home in 1887.*

Mrs. Miller was a member of Arlington Community Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Washington County Historical Society.

Frances Reckmeyer married Homer A. Miller on December 28, 1921 in Arlington. He died March 29, 1966.

Survivors include one son, James A. Miller of Lincoln; one sister, Margaret M. Reckmeyer of Lincoln; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Robert Saunders officiated at Tuesday’s service. Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Matilda (Whitlock) Reckmeyer; sister, Luella A. Reckmeyer; great-grandson, Zachary Y. Miller; and daughter, Mary Lou (Miller) Prentice.

Pallbearers were Wilbur Grefe, Rupert Hilgenkamp, Ed Baker, Ronald Christensen, Howard Marshall and Leonard Wulf.

Organist was Mrs, Kay Voss and soloist was Mr. Melvin Misfeldt.
