OBITUARY

Died at his residence in Blair, Nebraska, Saturday July 7th at 11:00 P.M., Charles Jacob Faber of paralysis in the 28th year of his age. The funeral services were conducted by Pastor Solbrich of the German Lutheran church, assisted by the choir of the Baptist church at 4:00 P.M. Monday. His body was interred in Blair cemetery.

The deceased had been in poor health ever since leaving Natchez, Miss., the result of a fall which injured his ribs and the bones of his hips. An operation, performed by Dr. Taylor in his life time, gave him great relief but did not result in a cure. He visited the Hot Springs about a month ago and returned much improved in health but caught cold from over-exertion in answering a fire alarm July 4th, which induced paroxysms of coughing, resulting in the rupture of a blood vessel at the base of the brain, as it is believed. This occurred only a few hours prior to his death.

Mr. Faber was born in New Orleans, La., May 28, 1807, and resided in that city until 1888 when he removed to Natchez, Miss. From Natchez he came to Auburn, Neb ., in 1890. While residing in Natchez he was married to Mrs. Hannah Harris about two years ago and leaves her his widow. His mother and four brothers, all of whom reside in this city, also, are left to mourn their loss. In addition to these are numerous other relatives and friends in the south and elsewhere who will learn of his untimely death with great regret.

Mr. Faber was a very kind man and was well liked by the people here who had formed his acquaintance. All join in sympathy with the bereaved wife and family.
