WALTER W. “BUD” FORD, JR., 74

Tekamah native Walter W. “Bud” Ford, 74, of Apache Junction, Ariz., died Sunday Aug. 17, 2003, at the Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Decatur. Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur.

Walter W. Ford was born March 15, 1929 in Tekamah to Walter W. and Hazel (Miller) Ford. He attended country school in Tekamah.

On Dec. 2, 1987, he married Gerry L. Warren.

Mr. Ford farmed, was a long-distance truck driver, worked for Weldon Industries and 4T Service. He was the manager of the Desert Holiday RV Resort in Apache Junction.

He was a member of the Mason Lodge, the Fraternal Order of the Elks, the Nebraska and Kansas Good Sams and Second Chance Sams.

He is survived by his wife, Gerry, of Apache Junction; sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie and Linda Ford of Pender; Lawrence and Maggie Ford of North Bend; Leander and Angela Ford of Columbus; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jim Divis of Colon; Pamela and Jim Butler of New Hope, Ala.; Kathy and Jim Moore of Kent, Wash.; sisters, Virginia Huffman of Decatur and Marion Saltzman of Salina, Kan.; 20 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and an infant son.

Memorials are suggested to the Desert Holiday RV Resort (Pool Fund).

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
