RUTH ESTHER LINGO SERVICES TUESDAY

Ruth E. Lingo was born at Weeping Water, Nebraska, July 20, 1905, and died at the Blair Memorial Hospital May 9, 1975, after a short illness. She was the daughter of Justin M. Ranney and Mary E. Ranney.

On September 20, 1934, she married Samuel E. Lingo, and after living in various towns, the Lingos moved to Blair on January 1, 1944, where Sam had been appointed the Washington County Extension Agent. They have lived in Blair since that time.

Mrs. Lingo was an active member of the Blair Methodist Church, and served in various offices of the Women’s Society. She was active in the work of the Women’s Extension Clubs, assisting in the formation of three new extension clubs, and in 1949 was selected as Washington County Homemaker of the Year. She was also a 4-H Club Leader for 25 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Lunner of Portland, Oregon; a son, Robert S. Lingo, of Washington, D.C.; a brother Lloyd Ranney and a sister, Margaret Ranney, both of Weeping Water, Nebraska and a granddaughter, Tracy Ann Lingo.

Services were held Tuesday, May 13, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair, with the Rev. Gordon Patterson officiating. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John T. Jensen, Roy I. Anderson, H. Lyle Guyer, Merle Wardell, Robert Fleming, and M. Stanley Jensen, all of Blair.
