Mrs. J. Merica died at the home of her son, Lee, in Omaha, Sunday of old age, and the body was brought here yesterday morning and taken direct to the cemetery for burial. Mr. Merica lives with his daughter, Mrs. Frank Iting, in Lincoln, but came here to attend the funeral. Also another son, Osceola, who lives at Ogden, Ia. One other son, Charles, lives down south somewhere but wasn’t here. Mrs. Merica was 69 years of age and had been feeble for some time. They formerly lived on the old McBride fruit farm just south of town.

The funeral of Mrs. J. Merica, an old-time resident of Blair, was held Tuesday morning from the residence of Duane Brown. The body came in from Omaha on the morning train.

The funeral of Sarah J. Merica, wife of Jonathan Merica, was held at the Baptist church Tuesday, Rev. Cabeen officiating. She was nearly 69 years old and leaves a husband, three sons and one daughter. Mrs. Merica died at the home of one of her sons in Omaha. The husband resides in Lincoln.
