MRS. FRAHM, 64, SUCCUMBS TODAY

LIFETIME RESIDENT OF THIS COUNTY IS FOUND DEAD IN BED TODAY

Mrs. August Frahm, 64, lifetime resident of Washington county and a former farm woman, was found dead in bed this morning at the Frahm residence, 202 east Nebraska street.

The body was removed to the Bendorf Funeral Home. Funeral services had not been arranged by noon today and those desiring to learn time and place are asked to telephone Bendorf’s.

Mrs. Frahm, as Sophia Catherine Gutschow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Gutschow, Sr., was born near the present site of the Blair bridge August 10, 1874. She and August Frahm were married in Blair March 5, 1895, and farmed most of the years since then in the Fort Calhoun vicinity.

Surviving Mrs. Frahm are her husband; seven sons, Hans, Otto and Ferdinand (“Fred”), all of Blair, Chris and Edgar of Fort Calhoun, Gustave and Rudolph of Herman; three daughters, Mrs. Hans Rathjen of Fort Calhoun, Mrs. Clarence Young and Mrs. Lawrence Weber of Omaha; a sister, Mrs. Mary McDonald, of Council Bluffs; two brothers, Chris and Fred Gutschow of Blair; two half-sisters, Mrs. Ed Hansen and Miss Catherine Gutschow of Blair; and a half-brother, Will Gutschow of Blair.

MRS. AUGUST FRAHM DIES SUDDENLY

Mrs. August Frahm, residing on East Nebraska street was found dead in bed this morning. She had been subject to heart trouble but had not been ill.

Arrangements for the funeral have not been made.

MRS. AUGUST FRAHM RITES MONDAY

Funeral rites for Mrs. August Frahm of Blair were held last Monday at one o’clock from the Presbyterian church in Fort Calhoun with Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen of the Methodist church of Blair officiating at the services.

Mrs. Frahm, had she lived until August 10, would have been sixty-five years of age. She was born and reared in Washington county, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Gutschow, deceased.

She was married to August Frahm on March 5, 1895 and to them eleven children were born, ten of whom with the husband survive. The surviving children are Hans, of Blair; Chris of Fort Calhoun; Mrs. Hans Rathjen of Fort Calhoun; Mrs. Clarence Young, of Omaha; Gus and Rudolph of Herman; Otto and Fred, of Blair; Edgar of Fort Calhoun; and Mrs. Lawrence Weber, of Omaha.

Nineteen grandchildren also survive.

The many friends of this vicinity were grieved to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. August Frahm, which occurred at her home in Blair on May 12, death resulting from a heart attack as she slept.

Mrs. Frahm, whose maiden name was Sophia Gutschow, was born near Blair on August 10, 1874. She was married to August Frahm on March 5, 1895, and most of their wedded life was spent on their farm west of Ft. Calhoun, the farm now being operated by their son Edgar. Besides her husband she is survived by seven sons and three daughters: Hans, Otto, Ferdinand and Chris of Blair; Edgar of Ft. Calhoun; Gustave and Rudolph of Herman; Mrs. Hans Rathjen of Ft. Calhoun, Mrs. Lawrence Weber and Mrs. Clarence Young of Omaha.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian church, and burial was in the Ft. Calhoun cemetery.
