Enterprise, June 14, 1918

News reached us of the death of Mrs. A. McPherson, of Denver, Colo., on the 11th, which causes a shock, as this estimable lady has been so capable in every way, and seemingly but in the prime of life, despite her years. Last fall she made a visit among relatives and friends here, by the auto route, and stood the trip better than the rest of the party, all young people. She has lived a very busy and useful life and leaves two daughters, Mrs. Scott Allen and Mrs. Mark DePuy, as well as two sisters and two brothers and many, many friends to mourn her demise.

Report of the death of Mrs. Adeline McPherson was received by relatives and friends last Wednesday a.m. Her death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mark DePuy, at Denver, Colo., Tuesday at 11 o’clock, p.m. Her other daughter, Mrs. Scott Allen of Calhoun township, had been with her during her illness and was present when the end came. The Enterprise has been unable to obtain data for an obituary. The remains will be brought here for interment in the Blair cemetery and funeral services will be held from the Congregational church in this city tomorrow (Saturday) at 2 o’clock, P.M. Deceased was a sister of August Verlautz, a former resident of Blair, and had resided in De Soto township on a farm for many years. She was well and favorably known and had many warm personal friends in this community.
