MEADOR RITES HELD SUNDAY

MRS. BESSIE MEADER, 87, DIES AT NORFOLK AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Meador, 87, widow of the late W.T. Meador, formerly of Herman and Blair, were held at the Herman Methodist Church Sunday.

Mrs. Meador died last Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Burdick of Norfolk, after a short illness.

Survivors include four daughters and one son. They are: Mrs. Roy Nearhood (Mabel) of Omaha, Mrs. Lawrence Phipps (Lola) of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Carl Anderson (Mattie) of Craig, Mrs. Earl Burdick (Maude) of Norfolk and Howard Meador of Lead, S.D. There are also seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Bessie Lee Lamb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lamb, was born Mar. 2, 1866, at Stephensport, Ky. She came to Nebraska, her home since, when three years old. She and William Taylor Meador were married Oct. 14, 1886, at their old home in the Rose Hill neighborhood. Mr. Taylor (?) died Sept. 8, 1940.

Mrs. Meador was a charter member of the Herman Eastern Star, which conducted a short service at the church.
