Virginia J. Wilkins, 87, of Kennard, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard. Burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Virginia J. Wright was born Oct. 29, 1920, in Kennard to Sam and Hazel (Rosenbaum) Wright. She attended schools in Davey, and graduated from Hooper High School.

On April 4, 1943, she married Frank Jewett at Seymour John Field in North Carolina. On April 12, 1970, she married Roland "Bud" Wilkins in Kennard.

Mrs. Wilkins loved the Huskers and her family very much, especially all her nieces and nephews, regardless of their age.

She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard, member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the 40 & 8. She also was a member of the Kennard Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

Virginia and her first husband owned the White Spot Cafe on Highway 30 in Kennard for many years. She worked at numberous jobs throughout the years. Most recently she worked at Park Place Arabian Horse Farm and D. L. Blair.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Jewett of Kennard; sister-in-law, Lleanna Wright of Kennard; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Jewett and Bud Wilkins; a sister, Faye Sorensen; and brother, Sam Wright Jr.
