Funeral Held For Harold Wilkinson

Services for Harold W. Wilkinson, 42, Fremont Fireman who died Sunday at a Fremont hospital, were held Wednesday afternoon at First Lutheran Church.

Rev. Emil Kuehn officiated. Music was furnished by Mrs. Robert Hansen and Gene Eller.

Death was attributed to a liver failure due to cancer. He had been off duty from the Fire Department the past two months.

Mr. Wilkinson started duty as a firefighter in Fremont Sept. 17, 1957. Born at Curtis Nov. 7, 1921, he was graduated from high school at Arlington then served in the Marine Corps. He came to Fremont out of the service in 1946.

Mr. Wilkinson was a member of the Masonic Lodge, International Association of Firefighters, First Lutheran Church, was president of the Fremont Gun Club and was past president of the Nebraska Numismatic Association.

He was married to the former Hortense Schilke in 1948 at Fremont. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Carol, Gale and Jane; his mother, Mrs. Mabel Wilkinson; brothers, Don, Lloyd and Howard, all of Fremont. His father, Clyde, and brother Lyle preceded him in death.

Burial was in Memorial Cemetery with the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars conducting graveside services.
