John D. Wilkinson Sr., 92

John D. Wilkinson Sr. 92, of Bethany, Mo., died of a stroke on March 5, 2005, at the Healthcare Center in Bethany. Funeral services were March 9, with military honors provided by the American Legion and V.F.W. at the Miriam Cemetery in Bethany.

John Darrell Wilkinson Sr. was born Feb. 13, 1913, in Eagleville, Maryland to Harlan E. and Norae (York) Wilkinson. He was a veteran, and served in the U.S. army; he later worked as a truck driver.

On Feb. 28, 1948, he married Frances L. Dale.

Mr. Wilkinson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bethany; the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post, both in Bethany.

He is survived by his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald D. and Carman Wilkinson and John D. and Pat Wilkinson Jr. of Bethany; stepdaughter and husband, B. Estelle and Richard Trofholz of Blair; sister, Norma Van Hoozer of Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
