William T. Wilkinson Sr., 93

Blair native William T. Wilkinson Sr., 93, of Chapin, S.C., died June 29, 2002, in Columbia, S.C.

Funeral services were Monday, July 1, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home in Chapin, S.C.

William Thomas Wilkinson Sr. was born in Blair. He attended Dana College, and was a farmer from 1933 to 1958 near Blair, and a resident of Winter Haven, Fla., from 1958 until 1992. He was also a resident of Gramercy Hill in Lincoln from 1993 until 2001, and a resident of Generations of Chapin from 2001 until his death.

He was a member of the Episcopal faith, and became a Mason in 1945. He served for more than 50 years in Solomon Lodge No. 10 in Fort Calhoun.

He was married for 61 years to Claire Nelson Wilkinson, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Gary Clifford of Lititz, Penn., and Shirley and LeRoy Seng of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Beth Wilkinson of Chapin; nine grandchildren; five great-grand-daughters; a sister, Alice Schafter of Omaha, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the Ashland United Methodist Church, 2600 Ashland Road, Columbia, SC, 29210.

Caughman-Harman Funeral Home in Chapin was in charge of arrangements.

A graveside service for William Thomas Wilkinson Sr. will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at the Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Wilkinson, a longtime resident of Blair, died June 29, 2002, in Chapin, S.C.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Clifford of Lititz, Penn., and Shirley Seng of Lincoln, son W. Thomas Wilkinson, Jr. of Chapin, S.C., nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Alice Schafer of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claire Nelson Wilkinson.
