Milton B. Wild died at the Blair hospital last Tuesday forenoon as a result of injuries received in a fall a week previous.

When Blair was laid out and the first settlement begun forty-six years ago, M. B. Wild was one of the prosperous farmers of the county, owned and worked the farm, just above the then village of Cuming City, now owned and occupied by Andrew Beck. He had always until age began to tell on him, been a very active and energetic man.

He was a native of Ohio, born in Scioto County, Dec. 5, 1826. He settled in Nebraska, in this county, in 1865. Was married to Vilena Carter Jan. 10, 1849. Eleven children were born to them, six of whom are living; Elmer of Fremont, Mrs. Amanda Leslie of Woodbine, Iowa, Edward, James, Mrs. John Dulaney and Mrs. L. E. Peterson of Blair.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. yesterday, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. E. Peterson, Rev. J. W. Lewis officiating.

M. B. WILD DEAD

Mr. M. B. Wild, a pioneer settler of Washington county, was born in Sciote county, Ohio, Dec. 5, 1826. He was married to Vilena Carter on Jan. 10, 1849. To this union eleven children were born, six of whom are still living.

The Wild family moved to this county in 1865 where they have since resided. Mr. Wild was one of the best known of the pioneer settlers and had an extensive veterinary practice here in an early day and was also engaged in the stock business.

Sometime back he had the misfortune to fall and break his leg and although he had every possible attention and care at his advanced age he was unable to withstand the shock and he passed away on June 29 being past eighty nine years of age.

The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the Lou Peterson home.

Milton Bird Wild

Milton Bird Wild died at the Blair Hospital at 7 o’clock yesterday morning from the results of a fall about two weeks ago, at which time his left leg was broken near the hip. His advanced age, 89 the 5th of last December, was against his recovery from the accident, and he grew worse daily until the end came. The funeral will be held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lou Petersen, at 2:30 tomorrow, Thursday. Rev. J. W. Lewis officiating. Interment will be made in the Blair cemetery by the side of his wife, whose death occurred in May, 1891. Deceased was born in the state of Kentucky Dec. 5th, 1826, while John Quincy Adams was president. During the Civil war he became a veterinary and followed this profession most of the time the balance of his life or until he became to feeble to do so. He was married to Miss Vilena Carter, a sister of T. M. Carter and Mrs. J. P. Stricklett, of this city, in Scioto county, Ohio, June 10th, 1849. They came to this county in 1865, among the earliest settlers, and Mr. Wild had lived here just fifty years this summer. Of this union twelve children were born, six of whom are now living: Ed Wild, Mrs. John Dulaney and Mrs. L.E. Petersen, of this city, Jim Wild, of DeSoto, Elmer Wild, of Fremont and Mrs. Amanda Lesie, of Neola, Ia. He also leaves 25 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
