Charles Voss, 76, Dies At Blair Hospital Oct. 8th

Charles Voss, well-known farmer of the Wranch School district south of Blair, died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair Friday, October 8th. He was a life-time resident of Washington County.

The deceased was born at Blair on January 29th, 1895. Virtually all of his life was spent as a farmer in the south part of Washington County where he grew to manhood and located for his life’s work.

He was married to Miss Anna Wiese December 12, 1917 and to this union four children were born. All of them survive their father.

They are LeRoy Voss, of Blair and Elmer Voss of Fremont; Mrs. Gladys Lauritsen of Fremont and Miss Louise Voss of Blair. Mrs. Voss preceded her husband in death.

There are seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Two brothers are also survivors. They are George Voss of De Smet, South Dakota and Louie Voss of Blair. Mrs. Teresa Wiese of Omaha is a sister.

Funeral services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Bennington last Saturday, October 9th. The Rev. Norman Schroeder conducted the service and burial was made in the German Cemetery in the south part of Washington County under the direction of the Hadan-Golden Mortuary of Bennington.

Pallbearers were Jerry Lauritsen, Howard Voss, Herbert Wendt, Henry Kniep, Merle Christiansen and Dennis Voss.
