Son of Well Known County Couple Dies Following Short Illness

Kenneth Merten Voss, 6, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Voss of north of Blair, died last Friday following a month’s illness. He was born October 26, 1930 and was baptized in the Lutheran faith December 26, 1930. He was a member of the primary class in the Lutheran Sunday school at the time of his death.

A second grade pupil in the Cuming City school where Miss Hazel Cannon is teacher, Kenneth was a favorite among his classmates who will greatly miss his presence. He was a member of the Royal Neighbor Juveniles.

After undergoing a major operation January 13 at Immanuel hospital in Omaha where he remained for ten days, the lad was brought to his home January 24. Suffering from an incurable malady, Kenneth was given every care by his family and cousin, Mrs. Lyle Gilbertson.

Surviving him are his bereaved parents, a sister, Henrietta, and a brother, John Russell.

Funeral services were conducted from the First Lutheran church Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. James N. Lund, officiating. Burial was in the Blair cemetery. Four cousins, Merton Jensen, Merton Kuhr, Gerald Jensen, all of Blair and Kenneth Gilbertson of Omaha were pallbearers.

Kenneth M. Voss Buried Sunday

Kenneth Merton Voss, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Voss, was born October 26, 1930 and died February 5, 1937 at the home of his parents north of Blair.

He was baptized in the Lutheran faith December 28, 1930 and was a faithful member of the Sunday School of the church. He attended the Cuming City school where he was a general favorite with the teacher and pupils who will miss him greatly.

He was a member of the juveniles of the Royal Neighbor lodge.

On January 13 he underwent a major operation at the Immanuel hospital in Omaha where he remained ten days. Knowing his condition to be hopeless, his parents had him removed to his home on January 24 where he was given every attention that loving hands and devoted hearts could give, not alone by his own family but also by his cousin, Mrs. Lyle Gilbertson. Besides the grief-stricken parents, he leaves to mourn his death one sister, Henrietta, and a brother, John Russell.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 Sunday afternoon from the home and at 2 from the First Lutheran church with Rev. James Lund officiating and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Pallbearers were Merton Jensen, Merton Kuhr, Gerald Jensen and Kenneth Gilbertson.
