Funeral services for Wallace C. Voss, 61, of Arlington were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. Rev. Curtis Benson officiated.

Military graveside services were conducted by the Hooper American Legion Post 18 and Kennard American Legion Post 366 at the Hooper Cemetery.

Wallace, a retired carpenter, died April 9, 1988, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

He was born December 1, 1926, in Blair, where he grew up and graduated from Blair High school in 1944.

He served in the US Army during World War II.

After his discharge, he lived in Kennard and worked for a time at Omaha Steel Company, and later was employed as a carpenter for Elmer Lund.

Wallace moved to Arlington in 1962, and became a self-employed carpenter in 1964 and retired in 1977.

He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 3215, Blair; American Legion Post 366 at Kennard, Ak-Sar-Ben, and the Washington County Bank Heritage Club.

On October 14, 1962, he married Alverta Tienken Lantenfield at Grace Lutheran Church in Hooper.

She survives, as does brother Alvin Voss of Arlington, sisters Dorothy (Mrs. Avery) Jaspersen of West Point and Mrs. Evelyn Parrish of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bertha (Koepke) Voss, brothers, John and Wilbert, and sisters, Wilma Voss and Catherine Christensen.

At the funeral service, the organist was Mrs. Alice Dam and soloist was Mrs. Ivye Benson.

Pallbearers were Larry Voss, Jerry Jaspersen, Roger Von Seggern, Kenneth Shaffer, Virgil Rohlff and Danny Parrish.

Memorials are suggested to the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
