WILHELM VOSS IS BURIED IN IOWA

Services were held at Zion Lutheran Church in Magnolia, Iowa, on Friday, August 27, for Wilhelm C. Voss, 94, who died August 24, 1982, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

The Rev. Wetzstein conducted the services. Burial was in the Magnolia Cemetery.

Wilhelm C. Voss was born on March 17, 1888, to Diedrich and Lorisa Winkelschier Voss. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church Magnolia, Iowa, where he was a lifelong member.

“Bill” Voss attended Oak Grove Country School in Magnolia. At the age of 14, he quit school and started farming, remaining on the family farm where he was born in a log cabin. He continued to farm until 1974.

He was married on September 10, 1913, to Mamie Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ida and a baby in infancy; three brothers, Herman, Adolph and Frank; two half-sisters, Sophia and Alvina; and three half-brothers, Fred, Henry and Theodore.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie; and his two daughters, Mrs. Hudson (Mamie) Ehlert of Woodbine, Iowa; and Mrs. Kenneth (Winifred) King of Blair. Five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Minnie Merritt and Johanna Johnson of Omaha, also survive him.

Pallbearers were Dennis Ehlert, Roger Ehlert, Karol King, Robert Jackson, Mark Hammitt and Harvey Voss.

Mrs. Loie McElwain was organist.
