Frank Vybiral Kills Himself

City Clerk At David City A Suicide; Once With Bank In Blair

Frank Vybiral, 51, one time Blair and Kennard banker, committed suicide by shooting himself last Thursday noon at his office in David City, where he had served as city clerk for 16 years.

Friends said Mr. Vybiral had been obsessed by worries lately.

Funeral services were held at David City Saturday, and burial was in David City Cemetery.

Mr. Vybiral came to Blair as a young man before World War I, and was a member of the State Bank staff. During the first war, he was in the navy, and upon his return to Blair joined Stanley E. Hain Post 154, American Legion. A short time after coming back to Blair, Mr. Vybiral went to Kennard to join the staff of the Farmers and Merchants Bank. He later was at Greenwood, near Lincoln, until moving to David City 18 years ago.

He and Lola Menking, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Menking of Kennard, were married in Blair in 1919. To them were born seven children, two of whom, a boy and a girl, preceded their father in death and are buried in *Kennard Cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Vybiral are his wife, Lola; a son, Frank Vybiral, Jr., of Lincoln; four daughters, Mrs. Ed Costello (Margaret) of Schuyler, Mrs. Jerry Okrina (Betty) of David City, Jean and Donna Vybiral, at home; and one grandchild. Mrs. Harry Edwards of Blair is a sister of Mrs. Vybiral, as is Mrs. Arthur Andreasen of Lyons, while Keith Menking of Blair is her brother.
